Even the little demons who work for the Mandrake. A year passes by and everyone in the house does what Earwig asks. After some screaming and banging, the Mandrake tells Earwig that Bella will start teaching her magic and treat her less like a slave. The Mandrake gets soo upset that he has claws and wings and he takes his anger out on Bella Yaga. Earwig then feeds the worms through a tiny hole in the wall and they end up landing in the Mandrake's den. Bella Yaga is so upset that she locks Earwig in her room and gives her worms, only the worms land on the floor instead of inside of Earwig because of the protection spell. One hand comes out of Bella Yaga's forehead and the other comes out of her behind. Finally, Earwig gets strands of hair from Bella's hat and the spell works. She's only missing a strand of hair before her spell is complete. Being tired of being treated like a slave and being told that she's just "an extra pair of hands," Earwig decides to find a spell that will make Bella grow a literal extra pair of hands on her body. It took all night and a bunch of ingredients, but they successfully made a potion that wouldn't allow Bella Yaga to cast a spell on either of them when she was upset. One night, Thomas (the cat) told Earwig that he could help her find a spell that would be useful to the both of them.

The house is full of spells, potions, and invisible doors.
She's brought to this strange house and Bella Yaga explains that she is a witch and she adopted Earwig to be her assistant. This all changes when Mandrake and Bella Yaga come in and adopt Earwig.
She gets to chose her supper, her best friend, Custard, does whatever she wants, and it's been that way since she was dropped off at the doorstep (she had a note on her stating that her mother is in fact a witch). Morwald's Orphanage because she always gets what she wants no matter what.
